Chelsea was born on the island of Trinidad and raised in the Flatbush area of Brooklyn.

Chelsea is currently working on a book about sexual experiences in childhood, memory, and the mother-daughter love story, as it intersects with Caribbean identity, generational trauma, and womanhood. Chelsea recently curated the Trees of Little Caribbean exhibition at Brooklyn Botanic Garden; a celebration of the plants and trees cherished by Caribbean people that spark stories of rebellion, resilience, spirituality and joy--now extended through March.

Chelsea is currently a ‘25 Creative Non-Fiction MFA program candidate at Hunter College
